The Government of the Republic of Maldives strongly condemns the statements made by the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation government regarding the so-called “Vision of Greater Israel,” and expresses its firm rejection of the settlement and expansionist plans reflected in these statements. Such statements constitute a blatant violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. It undermines the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people including their right to self determination and to establish an independent and sovereign State on their own land, based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its Capital.
The Maldives unequivocally rejects the continuation of such unlawful policies which will further heighten tensions, threaten regional stability, and undermine the foundations of international legitimacy. The Government calls upon the international community to take decisive and unified action to end these provocations, safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people, and preserve regional and international peace and security.
The Maldives reaffirms its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and reiterates its commitment to support all efforts aimed at achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region.
