Statement by the Government of Maldives strongly Condemning the Storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli officials

The Government of the Republic of Maldives strongly condemns the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli officials. Such actions constitute a blatant violation of international law and represent a deliberate provocation aimed at undermining the sanctity, legal status, and deeply rooted historical and religious significance of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

These repeated violations, including restrictions of access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, is not only an assault on the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, but also a direct affront to Muslims around the world.

The Government of Maldives reiterates its call on the international community to take immediate and decisive measures to hold Israeli accountable for continuous gross human rights violations and its blatant disregard for the longstanding 'status quo' governing one of the holiest sites of the Islamic Ummah.
