The Maldives and India hold official talks

The President of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi, held official talks today as part of the Prime Minister’s state visit to the Maldives.

The discussions, led by President Dr Muizzu and Prime Minister Modi, took place this afternoon at the President’s Office.

During the talks, President Dr Muizzu expressed his appreciation for India’s significant contributions to the development of the Maldives. The two leaders also explored avenues to enhance cooperation in areas such as economic development, defence, trade and investments, and climate change.

The official talks concluded with both leaders expressing optimism about further strengthening cooperation in areas including capacity building, healthcare, tourism, and sports.
