The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the Maldives Stella Nkomo, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, today, following the Presentation of Credentials by the Ambassador to the President of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held at the President’s Office earlier this morning.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel welcomed Ambassador Nkomo to the Maldives and congratulated her on the presentation of credentials as the Ambassador of Zimbabwe accredited to the Maldives. Minister Dr. Khaleel expressed confidence that Ambassador Nkomo’s appointment would mark the beginning of a new chapter in strengthening the Maldives–Zimbabwe relationship.
Both sides further discussed avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepen collaboration at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their keen interest to continue working closely to expand diplomatic ties and explore opportunities of mutual interest.
Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied to the meeting by Secretary Dr. Hala Hameed, State Minister Dr. Mariyam Zulfa, Joint Secretary Khadeeja Najeeha, Senior Under Secretary Fathimath Naeema and Deputy Desk Officer Fathmath Layana Ihusan.
