The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Maldives, His Excellency Sardor Rusthambaev, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Kahleel today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dr. Khaleel congratulated Ambassador Rusthambaev on presenting his credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu as the first non-resident Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Maldives and emphasized on enhancing the bilateral relations between both the countries.
Minister Khaleel and Ambassador Rusthambaev exchanged views on reviewing the entire range of bilateral engagements to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries. In this connection, they expressed keen interest to finalize key bilateral agreements to facilitate air connectivity and increase people-to-people connection, trade and investment. Both Minister Khaleel and Ambassador Rusthambaev reiterated their commitment to develop strong and mutually beneficial partnerships both bilaterally and at multilateral forums.
Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Secretary Fathimath Inaya, State Minister Sheryna Abdul Samad, Additional Secretary Farzana Zahir and Assistant Director Aishath Jumana.
