On the occasion of the Chinese Spring Festival and the beginning of the Year of Horse, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, has sent a letter of felicitations to the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Wang Yi.
In his letter, Minister Dr. Khaleel expressed his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Minister Wang Yi, the Government, and the people of the People’s Republic of China as they celebrate the festive season.
Minister noted that the Maldives highly values its close and friendly relations with China, which continues to grow from strength to strength. He further expressed that the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, founded on mutual respect, shared values, and the steadfast adherence of the Maldives to the One-China Principle, makes this auspicious year particularly meaningful for further deepening our bilateral cooperation.
Minister Dr. Khaleel reaffirmed his confidence that the year ahead will bring renewed momentum to our close collaborations across key areas, including on people-to-people exchanges, infrastructure development, trade, and tourism, as we work together to jointly build a Maldives-China community with a shared future.
Minister Dr. Khaleel also conveyed his best wishes for Minister Wang Yi’s good health and well-being, as well as continued success, happiness and prosperity for the people of the People’s Republic of China.
