Right to Information (RTI)
The Maldives Right to Information Act (Law Number 1/2014), which came into effect on 12 July 2014, is a landmark legislation that recognizes every person's right to access information as a fundamental human right.
Enacted to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance, the RTI Act empowers citizens to understand how state institutions function, make informed decisions, and actively participate in public affairs.
Making an Information Request at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Under the Maldives Right to Information Act (Law No. 1/2014), all information requests to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must be submitted using the official RTI Form.
