Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Her Excellency Aishath Azeema, presented her Letters of Credence to the Right Honourable Mr. Ram Chandra Poudel, President of Nepal, during a special ceremony held in Rashtrapati Bhavan, Kathmandu, the capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, today.
Following the presentation of the Letters of Credence, President Poudel extended his warm congratulations to Ambassador Azeema on her appointment and conveyed his confidence that she would contribute meaningfully to further enhance the longstanding and friendly relations between the Maldives and Nepal.
Ambassador Azeema conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, and from the Government and the people of the Maldives to the Government and the friendly people of Nepal.
Ambassador Azeema expressed sincere appreciation, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, for the continued assistance extended by Nepal towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives, particularly in the health sector. As the newly accredited Non-Resident Ambassador, she reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with the Government of Nepal to further consolidate the existing bilateral relations during her tenure.
Ambassador Azeema is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Health and Population, the Foreign Secretary, and other senior Government officials of Nepal.
Her Excellency Aishath Azeema currently serves as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of India and will concurrently serve as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Nepal, with residence in New Delhi. She was appointed as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Nepal by His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on 17 June 2025. Ambassador Azeema was accompanied by First Secretary at the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in India, Mr. Mohamed Najeel.
