Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel sent a message of felicitations to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Toshimitsu Motegi, on the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“On the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito, I wish to extend warm greetings and sincere good wishes to Your Excellency and the friendly people of Japan.
The Maldives and Japan share a longstanding friendship that has thrived over the past five decades. Japan’s generous support and assistance, reaching communities across the Maldivian archipelago, has immensely benefited the Maldivian people, and has left a legacy of respect, trust and goodwill that resonates to this day.
As we approach the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027, we look forward to further dialogue and engagements aimed at exploring and fostering our common interests and shared aspirations.
