Newly appointed Ambassador of the Philippines to the Maldives calls on the Minister of Foreign Affairs

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Nina P. Cainglet, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam today, following the Presentation of Credentials to His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Iruthisham congratulated Ambassador Cainglet on her appointment. Minister also expressed sympathy and condolences to the Government and the people of the Philippines for the sad loss of lives and destruction caused by the earthquake that struck off the coast of Mindanao, Philippines and expressed hope for smooth and quick recovery. 

Minister Iruthisham and Ambassador Cainglet further exchanged views on enhancing the close bilateral ties and exploring areas for future cooperation and collaboration between the two countries. Both Minister Iruthisham and Ambassador Cainglet reiterated their commitment to develop a strong and mutually beneficial partnership through both bilateral and multilateral engagements.  

Minister Iruthisham was accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheryna Abdul Samad, Additional Secretary Farzana Zahir and Director Asheer Abdul Azeez.
