Canadian High Commissioner-Designate Calls on the Foreign Minister

14 January 2010, Male; The High Commissioner-Designate of Canada to Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Bruce Levy called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr Ahmed Shaheed today.

The Foreign Minister welcomed the High Commissioner-Designate and expressed confidence that the close relations between the Maldives and Canada will be further strengthened during his tenure. Further during the call, the Minister and the High Commissioner-Designate also discussed ways to facilitate Canadian assistance to the Maldives, especially in the areas of institution strengthening and capacity building.

The meeting was attended by Ms Zenysha Zaki, Assistant Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
