Middle East Peace Process The Government of Maldives strongly believes that a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East could only be achieved through a complete and unconditional Israeli withdrawal from all Palestinian and Arab territories occupied since 1967, including the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif. A just and comprehensive peace will also involve enabling the Palestinian people to exercise self-determination and to establish their own, independent State. The Maldives continues to support the Palestinians in their struggle to regain their homeland and establish an independent Palestinian State with Al-Quds as its capital. The Maldives strongly condemns all acts designed to derail the peace process and calls on the parties to respect the agreements reached so far. |
