The United Nations Human Rights Council concluded its 35th Session today in Geneva. The delegation of the Republic of Maldives delivered 18 formal statements and 1 joint statement on behalf of 47 countries and actively participated in the negotiation of 36 resolutions and 1 Presidential Statement, adopted during the concluding session of the Council. The session also confirmed the appointment of 4 mandate holders and adopted the report of the 35th session.

Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim, who is on a 3 day official visit to Indonesia met with Minister of Tourism, H.E Arief Yahya this afternoon at  the Ministry of Tourism.

In the meeting Minister Asim and Minister Arief discussed on possible means to develop closer cooperation in the tourism sector where each country had its unique experience over the course of its tourism sector development. Indonesia has been leading in promoting Halal and family tourism. The two Minister’s briefing on their respective tourism sector development and efforts made for improvements, identified the need for a good connectivity to improve tourism and tourism related trade.

Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim, currently undertaking an official visit to Indonesia met with his counterpart, H.E. Ms. Retno Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia.

Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim has departed on a two-day official visit to Indonesia, this afternoon.

During the visit, the Minister Asim is to meet his counterpart, Minister on Foreign Affairs, H.E. Retno Marsudi and  hold discussions on ways to further strengthening the long existing bilateral relation between both the countries.

Minister Asim is accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary, Bilateral and Mr. Ahmed Suzil, Assistant Director, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
